Marek Staszek

CEO

Marek Staszek

Marek Staszek, an economist and a transport engineer by education. Graduated from the Silesian University of Technology and the Wrocław University of Economics and Business.

He has been a part of the rail freight transport market during his entire career, which started in 1994 in PTKiGK in Rybnik, where he was responsible among others for transport management in sidings and rolling stock management. Next he took the position of Director of Controlling to pursue his career in finance. In 2006 he became Managing Director and a year after, CEO of PTKiGK in Rybnik. Two years later after ownership transformations of the company, he took the function of Board Member for Finance in PCC Rail S.A. and later on in DB Schenker Rail Polska.

In July 2014 he took the position CEO of DB Schenker Rail Polska, after changing the name in April 2016 DB Cargo Polska, one of the largest rail logistics operator in the country. In February 2019 he was appointed Board Member for Production at DB Cargo AG in Germany. Under his management, DB Cargo achieved better punctuality in rail transports and implemented measures to stabilize production processes.

As of 1 May 2020 he returned to his position of CEO of DB Cargo Polska. Currently responsible for DB Cargo group’s businesses in Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Thomas Hesse

Thomas Hesse

Thomas Hesse joined the Deutsche Bahn AG Group in September 2001. He started his career as Merger & Acquisition Project Manager being responsible for the disposal of minority share holdings for legal and financial issues related thereto. In mid 2005, he took the position of Financial Director at DB Magnetbahn GmbH in Munich where he was responsible, among others, for the Maglev/Transrapid Project – launch of a rapid rail connection between the main railway station and the airport in Munich.

At the beginning of 2009, he took the position of Economic Development Director in the former division  – V at the DB Group. He took care, among others, of central procurement, technical issues, quality management and environmental protection and later he joined the Masterplan IT project team, being part of the Technical Department of the DB Group.

In March 2010 he was appointed the Director of Finance and Controlling Director for the former DB Schenker Rail Region East. Since 1 January he has been the Board Member for Finance at DB Cargo Polska and its subsidiaries.

Robert Nowakowski

Robert Nowakowski has been connected with railway for over two decades – he went through all levels of professional career, becoming an expert in the field of rail transport and rolling stock. He worked in the West District Management of PKP in years 1992 – 1997. In the former PKP Przewozy Regionalne he was, among others, a Deputy Director in the Mazovia and the Łódź Regional Transport Division and Director in the Podlesie and Kujawsko – Pomorskie Division of the company. Between January 2008 and August 2011, he was a Board Member for Sales and Production in PR (currently POLREGIO). He graduated from the Transport Faculty of the High Engineering School in Radom.

Since 1st October, 2017 he has held the position of Board Member for Production.

Paweł Pucek

Board Member for Sales

Paweł Pucek

Paweł Pucek is a graduate of the Railway Transport Faculty of the Silesian University of Technology. Moreover, he has successfully accomplished postgraduate studies also at Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice in the field of Integrated Safety System in Railway Transport.

He has been connected with the railway industry since 1994. He started his professional career in PTK Holding on the position of a specialist. In 2007, he was appointed Board Member for Transports in PTK Holding S.A.

After the company had been taken over by the DB concern, he took the position of Product Management and Sales Support Director at DB Schenker Rail Polska and in 2010 – Director of Transports which he has been holding for the next two years. In 2012 he became Director of Operations and in April 2014 – Director of Sales Office.

On 1st January, 2015 he took the position of Board Member for Sales.

Tamara Staniowska

Board Member for HR

Tamara Staniowska

Tamara Staniowska is a graduate of the Chemical Faculty of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice. Additionally, she accomplished postgraduate studies in the field of  human resources management at the University of Science and Technology and MBA studies at the University of Warsaw&Illinois.

She started her professional career at the Polish Academy of Science. She worked also in VATTENFALL Distribution POLAND S.A. where she went through the subsequent stages of her career up to the position of HR Director.

She has been a part of DB Cargo Polska since the company was created, when she held the position of HR Director. Since 1st July, 2012 she has been Board Member for HR while on 1st January, 2017 she took over the function of Head of HR Management Eastern Europe and UK in a double role.
