Marek Staszek

CEO

Marek Staszek

Marek Staszek, an economist and a transport engineer by education. Graduated from the Silesian University of Technology and the Wrocław University of Economics and Business.

He has been a part of the rail freight transport market during his entire career, which started in 1994 in PTKiGK in Rybnik, where he was responsible among others for transport management in sidings and rolling stock management. Next he took the position of Director of Controlling to pursue his career in finance. In 2006 he became Managing Director and a year after, CEO of PTKiGK in Rybnik. Two years later after ownership transformations of the company, he took the function of Board Member for Finance in PCC Rail S.A. and later on in DB Schenker Rail Polska.

In July 2014 he took the position CEO of DB Schenker Rail Polska, after changing the name in April 2016 DB Cargo Polska, one of the largest rail logistics operator in the country. In February 2019 he was appointed Board Member for Production at DB Cargo AG in Germany. Under his management, DB Cargo achieved better punctuality in rail transports and implemented measures to stabilize production processes.

As of 1 May 2020 he returned to his position of CEO of DB Cargo Polska. Currently responsible for DB Cargo group’s businesses in Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Michał Batko

Board Member for Production

Michał Batko

Michał Batko is a graduate of the University of Białystok. He has also completed the MBA studies at the Cracow University of Economics and Cracow School of Business. He has been a part of DB Cargo Polska since the beginning of his career which he started in 2000 as a specialist in the Legal Department. For the next years he held managerial positions in companies belonging to the DB Cargo Polska Group where he was mainly responsible for the management and maintenance of the rolling stock. In 2015 he took over the position of CEO of Infra SILESIA, a company of the DB Cargo Polska Group, where he played an active role in the development of the construction contract portfolio and the improvement of safety standards in the field of railway infrastructure maintenance and rail traffic management. In 2018 he took over the position of Head of the Asset Management, Manufacturing and Maintenance where he has been responsible for providing of locomotives and wagons and development of the workshop for the production and maintenance of rolling stock in Rybnik. Numerous innovations have been implemented under his management while rolling stock modernisation as well as production have been developed with the prototype and serial production of innovative m2 wagons could as an example. Today, the Rybnik workshop is one of the most modern workshops for the production and maintenance of rolling stock in Poland.

Katarzyna Marciniak

Board Member for Finance/Controlling

Katarzyna Marciniak

Katarzyna Marciniak is a graduate of the SGH Warsaw School of Economics. She also completed her studies at the Faculty of Logistics at the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen. Since the beginning her professional career has been related to railways.  In 1995 - 2007, she held managerial positions in Cargosped and PKP Cargo companies. She was also a member of the Supervisory Board of Ogólnopolskie Zrzeszenie Agencji Celnych (Polish Association of Customs Agencies). In 2002, she passed the exam for candidates for supervisory board members in State-owned companies. Since 2007, she has been working for Deutsche Bahn. She managed the representative office of Deutsche Bahn in Poland and after finalizing the acquisition of the PCC Rail Group, she managed sales in the automotive and intermodal markets as well as communication, development and strategy at DB Cargo Polska. Since April 2021 she had also been responsible for the digital transformation at the DB Cargo Polska Group. She is an active member of industry organisations, being an expert on railway transport at Business Center Club; she has also managed the work of the Logistics Committee at the Polish-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce for many years. Since 1 January he has been the Board Member for Finance at DB Cargo Polska and its subsidiaries.

Paweł Pucek

Board Member for Sales

Paweł Pucek

Paweł Pucek is a graduate of the Railway Transport Faculty of the Silesian University of Technology. Moreover, he has successfully accomplished postgraduate studies also at Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice in the field of Integrated Safety System in Railway Transport.

He has been connected with the railway industry since 1994. He started his professional career in PTK Holding on the position of a specialist. In 2007, he was appointed Board Member for Transports in PTK Holding S.A.

After the company had been taken over by the DB concern, he took the position of Product Management and Sales Support Director at DB Schenker Rail Polska and in 2010 – Director of Transports which he has been holding for the next two years. In 2012 he became Director of Operations and in April 2014 – Director of Sales Office.

On 1st January, 2015 he took the position of Board Member for Sales.

Anna Sojka

Board Member for HR

Anna Sojka

Anna Sojka graduated from the Higher School of Marketing Management and Foreign Languages. She has also completed postgraduate studies in Human Resources Management at Katowice Business University. She has been a part of DB Cargo Polska for thirteen years. She started her work in 2009 as a Communication Specialist with responsibility for internal communication and all activities related to the employee involvement. In August 2013 she began her career in the HR Division where she first took the position of Specialist and then Coordinator for Professional Development. She was responsible for, among others, the planning process and development of top management, employee survey or euroTRAIL, the international traineeship programme. In 2019 she took the function of Director of Human Resources Management, being responsible for the issues related to the professional development of employees of the DB Cargo Polska Group, for shaping the company’s organisational culture, creating recruitment campaigns as well as for the Business Excellence & Project Management area. In January 2022 she took over the function of Head of the Management Board Office, Transformation and Digitalization, where she ensures the development and implementation of the corporate strategy for DB Cargo Polska in compliance with the strategy of DB Cargo and DB AG as well as digitization projects and is responsible for corporate communication and project management.
